Support Refugees Locally
Donate Time, Supplies, & Dollars to a Local Refugee-Serving Organization
Miry's List connects people like you, who want to help, with new refugee families who have needs that are not completely met by the organizations that sponsor them. Each family has unique needs -- some have small children, elderly grandparents, or members with disabilities. Each family has a unique "list" of supplies that they need to get started. Read about the families, view their Amazon Wish Lists and send items they need directly to their door. Meet new arrivals and enjoy food cooked by new arrival chefs at Miry's List Supper Club events.
The Tiyya Foundation in Orange County provides community support and educational opportunities for refugees, immigrants, and displaced American families. Programs include ESL, after school tutoring for grades K-12, youth soccer, employment workshops and a monthly diaper program for mothers in need. Tiyya is now expanding into Los Angeles. Hire a refugee or asylee caterer through Flavors From Afar.
Claremont Canopy supports people displaced by forced migration who have resettled in Claremont and surrounding areas. You can help by donating, volunteering, or hiring a refugee or asylee caterer through Claremont Catering.
IRIS: Interfaith & Refugee Services -- ESL/Civics tutors, refugee mentoring, case management, helping to coordinate awareness events, as well as office tasks. IRIS can also help you with hiring a refugee.
